  The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda supports academically talented, service-oriented youth yet still facing social and economic barriers in Rwanda and Africa to pursue higher education and cultivate their leadership potential. The program creates conditions that enable young people to attain inclusive and relevant quality university education, transition smoothly into dignified and fulfilling work, and lead transformative lives. This program is designed to equip individuals with basic education with foundational digital literacy and entrepreneurship skills, enabling them to actively participate in the digital economy. With a strong emphasis on inclusion, the program targets refugees, persons with disabilities, low-income individuals, and disadvantaged women, empowering them to unlock new opportunities for income generation, self-employment, and digital engagement within their communities.
